Amitabh Bachchan has said that India's victory in the World Cup has cured his earlier superstitions surrounding cricket.
The Deewar star posted his comments on his Big Adda blog, reports The Times of India.
"That age-old superstitious, finicky belief, that if I were to watch a game it would result disfavourably for us, [is] broken and shattered for good I would imagine," Bachchan wrote.
The former 'Angry Young Man' revealed that he preferred to get updates by phone than to run the risk of jinxing the game.
"I have no idea what prompted me to switch the game on after we were thirty three for two and tottering," posted Bachchan. "And when [Mahendra Singh] Dhoni smacked that six for victory, it smacked my superstition too out of my life."
The veteran star, who has spent over 40 years in the film industry, is reported to have celebrated on the streets of Juhu with son Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai following the team's win.
